One trend that bores me everytime its back is the cropped-tee look! Nothing ever fascinates me about this I-go-to-college trend!

As much as I hate portraying this look, I though I’d rather make it work with layers! And, it was so much fun!

Following are a few of my favourite looks while pairing a cropped tee/shirt over a basic tank top!

Sienna Miller: perfect just-another-day look!!

and you know what is the most interesting factor about this trend? it is all about D-I-Y style!! 😉 bring out those scissors and that old tank/shirt and have some fun! 🙂

Must-have Black pant!

The versatility of a black pant completely amazes me!

When I wore them on Friday, nobody at work recognised these were the same pants I wore on Monday!

Wide or straight legged, skinny or slouchy, high waist or buttoned up, however you like it, INVEST in one of those!

Wear them with blouses, long shirts, striped tees, floral prints, lace tops or just a simple white shirt! To add that extra fizz, flip on a blazer or team it with statement neck-pieces. Carrying the right bag and choosing the best heel completes the whole look!

COBALT BLUE. Aggressive and daring.

This maybe the season of reds and purples. But offlate, I’ve been spotting many celebrities flaunting something blue.

I’ve always been fascinated by this colour. But never dared to wear or carry anything this loud! Just recently, I bought myself a blue leather sling bag. And i’m in love.

One must know to balance the loudness of blue with light/nude colours.  Sometimes, wearing a simple dress with blue eye-shadow and pairing it with accessories like bag/jewellery/shoes does the trick too! 🙂

Payal Luthra’s Fall/Winter 2010 Collection highlighted the versatility of cashmere.

Her collections coalesce chic cuts with innovative use of angles and folds. Each piece of cashmere creates a signature accent that is flattering and elegant.

Accesorising is an art.

Sometimes a simple wrist-watch or a plaited-hairband can be enough to ‘complete’ the outfit!

This season, I’m in awe of chunky neckpieces.

At the LFW Winter Festival 2010, Malini Agarwalla’s “Flamboyart” collection for her label Malaga was a mélange of pictures, fabrics and shapes which revealed the beauty of traditional India.

Now, you really can’t blame someone for not looking at your eyes while talking, right??!!

Masaba Gupta is one of the most promising amongst the emerging young Indian designers. Her designs can carry the tag of being traditional and edgy in the same sentence and still make complete sense!

Thinking Bride; Masaba’s latest collection at the Lakme Fashion Week- Winter Festival 2010 was everything festive clothing should be – Vibrant and edgy.

Her collection is fearlessly spunky.  The silhouettes remain simple and easy with interesting cuts. Pure silks and cottons are used with motifs inspired from mythology.  After Manish Arora, it is only in Masaba’s collection where vibrant colours have been embraced unapologetically.

When Vogue asked her about her latest collection, she replied, “The Thinking Bride collection is for the modern woman who likes to experiment, have fun with her clothes and would rather not dress like a chandelier”.

We heard you, Masaba! After all, fashion is all about having fun with clothes!

I’m already anticipating what this adventurous designer has to offer next!! 🙂
